So NaNo is just around the corner. I think I have a story, or at least two MC's. Most likely just two MC's, and the rest is going to fall apart the week before. I'll dump all the work I've done, and write erotica instead of romance. Except that romance is easier to write. I'll see what happens though.

New Year's Goals

It's around New Years in some culture this month, right? It doesn't really matter. Any time is a good time to make goals.

So, before Christmas, I want to drop a pant size. I have no idea how much weight that would be, and weight is depressing. It fluctuates based on how much water weight you have. Inches are easier, and less stressful.

TO do this, I'm going to work out for a total of 60 min a day, not including walking around campus. I'm going to eat lots of fruits, and veggies, and go lighter on carbs and refined sugars.

Another goal is to get to bed before 11, but that really won't happen. :D

Monday. There is no doubt in my mind....

Today is Monday. I have not a single doubt in my mind about this absolute fact. The Monday demons are out and about in full force. Perhaps they were thinking that I had too many nice Monday's in a row.

This morning started out just fine. I got up, was early to the bus stop. The bus was late. This usually doesn't happen on Mondays. I sat and played my new game, Picross3D. It's actually a really intuitive puzzle game. It's challenging, and yet, it's simple.

In my first class of the day, Fitness for Death, we ran 1.5 miles. You know, 1 mile isn't that bad, but 1.5 miles around and around a gym really sucks. I survived, and made great time. My past record for 1 mile was 14 min. 21 min for 1.5 miles really isn't that bad. Hopefully I can improve upon that before the new year begins. The reason I did so well, was one of the super sporty people was busy telling me to keep it up. I kept it up so that I could tear out that preppy voice, or that was my motivation at the moment. Yes, it is annoying to have someone chant "keep going, you can do it". It's helpful when you reflect on it, but at the time you have no other desire than to get them to shut up faster.

I got breakfast from the cafeteria, french toast, bacon and really yummy strawberries and melon. I carried it out in a box. While I was walking across the courtyard, balancing the box and my phone, the syrup decides to start running down my shirt and jeans. Yay. One more thing to deal with before I head to class. I made it to class eventually, with a wet spot across my clothing where I tried to mop up the syrup so that it wasn't sticky. That mess got cleaned up, and I made it to class.

I opened my soda, or at least attempted to. I opened it a little, closed it fast, and let the bubbles clear off. I did this several times, and I thought that it wouldn't explode if I opened it all the way. Sure, I was wrong, it exploded, but luckily did not get on anyone else. It just went across my notes.

So, it has been monday, and it isn't over yet. Hopefully it will go better.

Blech. That's All

So, school has started again. First year at college, first year to mess up, first year to freak out, and, hopefully, first year to be epic. Because I'm crazy, I decided to go into business. This means facing the Evil. Yes, accounting. Have I ever told you how much I hate accounting? The government has their fingers in everything. It's not just numbers and formulas. It's numbers, formulas, and government laws. Yes, I hate it.

Another topic, NaNoWriMo. What? You have no idea what that is? Well... It's part of the Office of Letters and Light's Young Writers program. This is a program that encourages writing in schools. clicky here. NaNoWriMo is a worldwide challenge every November. It stands for National Novel Writing Month. Yes, writing a novel in a month, of at least 50,000 words. The only rule? No editing. No touching what you wrote. None of that. You just write, and leave it as is. Then you finish a novel, start to finish, and don't leave it in the middle.

On this note, I have no idea what I want to do this year for my novel. I tried doing a romance, but that didn't go too well. Then I tried a horror novel. That didn't go too well. School got in the way. This year, I want to finish something and have it readable. I'm thinking of possibly a fantasy story. Yes, a romance again. Or possibly an adventure story. There's still time to think though.

This year, I would love to go to the Night of Dangerous Writing. It's on November 21, in San Fransisco. It costs 200 dollars. This 200 dollars is a donation to the Office of Letters and Light, not to me. Donate here.

You know it's been a long day when...

The ceiling cat looks down on you from above.

Basement cat has taken over your computer.

Your homework has mysteriously vanished, and your cat is no where to be found.

You come home and find a dog in your kitchen.

People withhold caffeine from you claiming that you've already had enough.

Your mother is in bed before you set foot in the door.

Homework is all that you have to do, eating cookies are no longer there.

You fall down the stairs and see your cat looking at you from the top.

All you can really think about shouldn't be said in polite company.

Life Cycle of a 'Shroom

'Shrooms are going to take over the world one day. Just you wait and see. They don't need anyone else to reproduce, they can grow just about anywhere, and they have great imaginations. One day we may have a zombie shroom that has something against all humans and will come and eat all your brains. BRAINS!!!

And because I know you'll ask, the illegible wording on the earth is "Houston. We have a problem."

What Really Happens in the Fairy Cirlces

As the world turns and as the AP Bio teachers start talking about 'shrooms the wee early morning hours have a strange effect on teenage minds. While taking notes and drawing diagrams I kept having this overwhelming urge to show what happens in Fairy Circles while no one is looking, or almost no one.

Oh. And until I get around to fixing the formatting, just click on the image to enlarge....
